Individual Therapy
In-person or via Telehealth

With a referral from your GP, your out-of-pocket cost for a session is generally only $112. However, you do not need a referral to book a session and access support.

Individual Therapy Session Costs

Each 50-minute session is charged at $255. This is below the Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee rate of $315, and you may be eligible for a Medicare Rebate, as described below. Payment is required on the day of your appointment.

The fee for an out-of-hours session (from 17:00 or weekends) is $275 for a 50-minute session. The payment requirements and Medicare processing rate remain the same.

Medicare Rebates

The Medicare rebate you will receive for each session is $141.85 (this means there is only a gap payment of $113.15 for weekday sessions). In order to access this rebate, you need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from a GP (or psychiatrist). A Mental Health Treatment Plan will entitle you to claim up to 10 Medicare rebates per calendar year (January 1st until December 31st, not a year from the referral). Your referral may entitle you to up to 6 Medicare rebated sessions; following review from your referrer, you may be provided additional rebates. Please contact me if you have any questions about this process.

If you are interested in obtaining a Mental Health Treatment Plan, please talk to your GP (or psychiatrist). If you wish to utilise a Medicare rebate for your session with me, you will need a written referral to Psychologist Dr Kaitlin Harkess. You can obtain this rebate for both in-person sessions or Telehealth sessions.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on your insurer and your level of coverage, it may be possible for you to claim a partial rebate from your extras cover. Please speak directly to your insurer about seeing a Clinical Psychologist.

Cancellations

Seven day's notice is required if you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment. This gives me a chance to contact other clients who would like that time.

The APS recommended cancellation policy is in place, with the cancellation fee noted below:

  • 0 – 24 hours' notice: Full fee

  • 24 – 48 hours' notice: 50% of fee

  • 7 days – 48 hours’ notice: 25% of fee

If you have any further questions about fees or appointments, please contact me.

Adult ADHD Assessment

ADHD Assessments typically take 3 sessions which are charged at $300 to account for the additional time used to collate information and compile it into a comprehensive report. Medicare rebates can be applied, meaning the out of pocket expense for each assessment session would be $158.15.

If you have any further questions or would like to book your ADHD Assessment, please contact me.

All sessions of the group are important. If you are going to miss more than one session, this may not be the best time for you to complete the course.
